MiniChess is a Windows desktop application. It does not operate an account service, advertising service, or behavioural analytics service.

Information processed

Only what a requested feature needs.

  • A public Chess.com username entered for completed-game lookup.
  • Public completed-game data returned by Chess.com’s Published Data API.
  • A user-supplied Lichess Board API token.
  • Local preferences, reports, studies, notes, puzzle progress, and mistake-practice scheduling.
  • A local file path when the user selects a custom UCI engine.

Storage and transmission

Your chess work stays on your device.

  • Chess.com passwords, cookies, and private sessions are never requested or stored.
  • Lichess tokens are encrypted with Electron safeStorage and sent only to Lichess.
  • Stockfish analysis is performed locally and is not uploaded by MiniChess.
  • The application contains no advertising or behavioural telemetry.

Browser reviewer demo

No account connection.

The public browser demonstration uses authored sample games. It does not contact Chess.com or Lichess, request credentials, run a live game, or store a reviewer profile.

Deletion and third parties

Local data remains under user control.

Local application data can be removed through MiniChess reset controls or by deleting its local application-data folder after closing the app. Lichess tokens can be revoked from the user’s Lichess account. Chess.com and Lichess use remains subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.
